Simple, automatic and reliable safety devices. Just a small investment means a considerable increase in the safety of the gas system, in particular as far as preventing the risk of explosions is concerned. In a fire in fact, gas leaks fuel the flames and can cause explosions if there’s a critical build-up of gas in certain areas. This thermally activated safety device automatically shuts off the gas flow when the temperature of the device reaches 100°C, stopping the gas leak. The device can withstand temperatures of up to 650°C for 30 minutes giving the emergency services time to respond. These safety devices are used on shut-off valves and meter valves, in a compact design that increases the functional features of the shut-off valve, to become a passive safety device. These devices have an external steel body and an internal thermosensitive device. When the external temperature reaches 95°-100°C, the metal alloy that holds the cut-off to the cartridge melts, and the compression force of the spring pushes the cut-off against the gas flow orifice, closing it completely. i
